Great for walking, jogging, or just sitting at a bench hand reading. If you’re a fan of meditation, you will definitely find this place great for activities like that as well. 

Furthermore, these gardens have over eight thousand plant species, making it a panoply of color and vibrant, green nature.

On the other hand, if you want something a bit more wild, but still pretty civilized. Namely, we are talking about Queen Victoria Markets. These markets have been open since 1878. For almost a century and a half, Melbourne has been buying fruits, vegetables, cheese, and smoked meats in this area. Furthermore, you can find artisanal crafts, souvenirs, and just feel the general hustle and bustle of an open market in this wild and gorgeous city.

Go party

One of the things Melbourne is most famous for is its live music scene. Namely, there are constantly some bands that are playing here, it attracts singers, bands, international stars and talent constantly. Furthermore, Nick Cave is a Melbourne native, something this town really should be proud of. 

Now, there are many places you can go and check out if you want to party. The Esplanade and Evelyn hotel are places to be, as are the Ding-Dong Lounge, the Palais Theatre, and the Spotted Mallard.

If you are more into a club-like atmosphere, we suggest you check out the Revs, the Radar, or the Angel Music bar. Then, if you get close to Flinders Court, you get to have some fun in the Sub Club. A basement club that will give you a night you will never forget.

Now, if you’re into something really wild, we suggest you check out the Harem brothel in Melbourne, for a bit of more exotic and naughty fun.

Some culture

Why not get some culture while you are here? For example, you should check out the Immigration Museum, a place where you can see all the stories of the diverse demographics of Australia. Here you see what makes Australia great, what makes it the beautiful melting pot that it is today. 

Or, visit the Scienceworks and check out the amazing and fantastic science exhibits, workshops, and general events. Here you can see a beautiful planetarium, an educational presentation of a huge Tesla Coil, or maybe visit the “Nitty Gritty Super City”, which is an educational presentation of how a city functions.

Or if you’re into alternative culture, we suggest you just walk through the streets and see what amazing street art can be found. Namely, Melbourne’s city officials have actually designated certain streets and parts of the city that are completely open to street art. In fact, it encouraged here. Just walking through the streets means you will see amazing graffiti and art strewn everywhere, to look at your leisure. There are even street tours that lead you through these areas.
