The four networks together reach tens of thousands of members working on most areas of global economy leadership with a next-gen, future oriented ethos. With over 60 attending guests from dozens of locations, the group arrived in Big Sky to enjoy Lone Mountain and its environs, with a daily mountain schedule and lunch time rendezvous. In the evenings, the focus shifted toward decentralized group gatherings and conversations on topics as diverse as space, oceans, climate, A.I., geopolitics and more.
The town of Big Sky and Big Sky Mountain Village formed the canvas for these conversations, with evening Hatch, Hub Culture and Future Horizon chalet meetups hosted by attendees. Larger gatherings with speakers and musicians were hosted by venues including the Waypoint, Blue Buddha Sushi, and Big Sky Town Center, with Everett's, the One & Only and other locations hosting more informal moments.
Climate: The Question:
How can we bridge the gap between technological advancement and the wisdom needed to guide humanity toward a sustainable and thriving future?
A Solution: Artificial General Wisdom (AGW)
While Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) aims to replicate human cognitive abilities, what we truly need is Artificial General Wisdom (AGW)—a system that doesn’t just process information but understands and applies knowledge with ethical depth, emotional intelligence, and long-term perspective.
A.I.: The Question:
Can governments remain sovereign without sovereign A.I.? At what point do the two become indistinguishable?
The group dove deep on geopolitics as well, uncovering linkages between the evolution of A.I. and its growing cultural influence, even in government. An A.i. angle to current government efficiency initiatives adds another layer of concern and scope, as we wrestle with what should be automated, eliminated or maintained within human realms.
Learn more about other community integrations during the week, including NASA astronaut Nichole Stott and Space for A Better World, and #AIMHIGHER Founder Christina Korp visit to Ophir school in Big Sky, where they shared inspiration on being good 'crewmates' on spaceship Earth. At the Waypoint, speakers on ocean science, the natural and wildlife footprint of the northern rockies, and the evolution of education in the age of A.I. shared themes and ideas.
Musical performances included evening DJ sets by Alex Dumitresque, and guitar and singing performances by Niki Cremmen and Buff Burrows, who brought original and mesmerziing music to the mix.
Capping off the week was a private screening at the Yellowstone Club of Champions of the Golden Valley, a film tracing the efforts of skiers to bring competitions to remote areas of Afghanistan. The film provided a stunning visual of how skiing in a very different location can highlight universal values of support, cooperation and competitiveness.
