At major conferences, such as UNFCCC COP30, much is said about the importance of the law of the sea; however, these discussions often remain distant from the general public and even more so from social groups vulnerable to climate change, such as the youth, women, and the elderly.
“Iuris Ocean” inspired in the etymology of “Law” comes from the latin word “Iuris” which is the linguistic base of the history of modern law. Gloal youth are in action to defend the Ocean building marine governance and blue diplomacy.
Iuris Ocean aims to bridge the gap between the biological science behind ocean policies and civil society, fostering broader public participation in decision-making processes that directly or indirectly shape their future in the triple planetary crisis. To ensure an inclusive and representative space, this event will address Latin American blue diplomacy and ocean governance in the context of international ocean policy.
