The Hub Culture Climate Campus Belém has been the center of numerous conversations, strategy work and discussions during COP30. As the ground up efforts of the global climate community come into focus, here are some of the conclusions and emerging commitments for the Amazon, oceans and nature at large arising out of the Campus.
The first time the AI saw the river, it mistook the vultures for angels. They circled slowly over the brown water of the Guajará Bay, wings edged in yellow, gliding through the humid air. Below them, the Amazon’s surface flickered with late-afternoon light, turning mud into molten metal. At the edge of the Hub Floresta in Belém, people leaned on the railings, taking photos and sipping coffee, their COP30 badges catching the sun.
As the state of Pará hosts the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP30 kick off in Belém, Hub Culture with Hedera, along with Voice of the Oceans, Celeste Restaurant, and Casa Dourada with Psica and World Climate Foundation anchor the Hub Culture Climate Campus, an example of networked collaboration and mutual ecosystem development. The Hub Culture Climate Campus at Belém includes Hub Floresta, the main center for Hub Culture activation, with networking and coworking space, a range of events and programming.
