TEACHER TRAINING INTENSIVES 2009 & 2010

After last year's success, I am once again taking the one-month intensive yoga teacher training at the beautiful Bhakti Kutir, www.bhaktikutir.com , in Goa, India, from the 21st November till the 19th December 2009. This is followed by the 2-week Christmas & New Year's retreat, which trainees are invited to stay on for, at no extra cost, and assist me, so that the newly gained skills can be applied directly. I will be assisted by the highly skilled Steve Agyei, UK's top personal trainer and qualified Quantum Yoga teacher. The 200- and 500-hour Yoga Alliance certified courses will be running alongside each other. Detailed info on www.quantumyoga.net. If you can't make those dates or would rather study in Europe, the next Teacher Training will be held at Ibiza's finest agrotourismo resort Atzar , www.atzaro.com, from 2nd to 27th March 2010. This one's shorter and therefore more intense, so you might as well indulge in a peaceful and luxurious setting, where you can totally focus on the yoga studies. The 200- and 500-hour Yoga Alliance certified courses will be running alongside each other. WINTER RETREATS ASIA

This will be the 9th year that I take the Christmas and New Year's retreat at Bhakti Kutirwww.bhaktikutir.com , in Goa. It feels like home, not just to me, but to so many students who return every year. The dates this year are Saturday 19th December '09 till Saturday 2nd January 2010. I put the popularity of this retreat down to the beauty of the location with its boho elegance, where every bungalow is different and lovingly hand-decorated, where we look up from the yoga platform to watch monkeys play in the trees, where there are three very different beaches in walking distance to choose from, where the staff is incredibly friendly and the food is out of this world. Vijay runs his Kerala team of Ayurvedic practitioners in the healing centre that is part of Bhakti Kutir, not to mention the delightful boutique, the tailor, Jonathan Dao's acupuncture and Chinese herb clinique etc. Then there is the all-encompassing yoga program: Lara takes early morning meditation & pranayama sessions, followed by a long group asana session, assisted by her newly qualified team of Quantum yoga teachers, who in the afternoon give individual or mini-group sessions, which Lara will oversee. Christmas and New Year's celebrations are part of the program, as well as excursions. All is optional on days that you choose to hang in your hammock and indulge in bird-watching! Spaces are limited and it's a popular time to fly, so please book soon!

Jungle Yoga, www.jungleyoga.com, in South Thailand is one hell of a trip! You live and practice on a huge lake, full of hidden wildlife that you can hear and occasionally spot through the binoculars, but to my utter amazement there are no mosquitoes. Canoes are there for you to paddle and explore this sanctuary, one of Thailand's unblemished natural gems, of which sadly there are so few left. The rest of the time you'll be doing yoga, pranayama and meditation, and relaxing, sunbathing and swimming. Dates are 21-28th January 2010.

Kamalaya, www.kamalaya.com, as already mentioned above, is pure pampering of the healthiest kind against a stylish and tasteful backdrop. On Koh Samui, this resort is geographically close to Jungle Yoga that lies on the mainland, so some students have opted to book on to both the retreat mentioned above and then this one. So it's the rusticity and excitement of natural living, followed by 5-star luxury. All the while being put through your yogic paces by Lara of course! Dates are 30th January till 5th February 2010.

WORKSHOPS

Lara Baumann will be teaching the Quantum Method of Yoga, a transformative and dynamic path to self-enquiry and healing, in the yoga hubs of Europe, Asia and the USA. The series of workshops will consist of the three basic quantum sequences, each of which regulates an Ayurvedic dosha or body-mind constitution. Study of these sequences facilitates an understanding of the Quantum Assessment Methods, which allow one to recognise how personal yoga practice should be varied from day to day to optimise its effects. The Master sequence also follows the Quantum Grouping and Sequencing laws and can therefore be used as a blueprint over which variations can be introduced.
