Hub Culture has announced its first digital currency sports sponsorship, deploying Ven to support Invert Building Racing in Melbourne, Australia, as a part of a move supporting the world of cycling.

Invert Racing is a successful Melbourne-based cycling team led by Hub Culture member Jarrad Smith, with Dan Moore, Jack Cummings, Jordan Stannus, Mark Guirguis, Simon Sime, and a volley of guest riders from Melbourne's St. Kilda neighborhood and beyond. Competitive cycling is a very popular sport in Australia, and its rapid growth aligns well with the ideals of Ven - environmentally progressive, clean, and exhilirating in nature on a global basis. The partnership runs through the 2014 racing season in Australia and also includes support from Buxton and Garage Expresso.

The deal also marks the first time digital currency has been used to enable a sports sponsorship, with the full amount of sponsorship paid in Ven to Invert Building Racing and available for use locally with Hub Culture Melbourne's partnership with Garage Expresso.
