The Ven Prize

The Ven Prize is an award toward sustainable, circular, cellular economic systems and projects in Hub Culture and the world at large.

The Prize launched 1 October 2009 at the Hub Culture Los Angeles Pavilion at the Governor's Global Climate Summit.

It began with a V100,000 base value. The current value of the Prize is: V102,680.

The first three cycles of the Prize have not see a winner awarded due to insufficiently complete projects submitted.  For the Prize to be successfully awarded, a full application meeting the Criterion for Selection must be submitted in time for the annual deadline and receive a winning majority by the judging committee, with material progress on the project in place.

The 2013 deadline for applications is 30 November, 2013, and requires the purchase of an application pass, detailed below.  Proceeds from the Application Pass are added to the Prize pool.

Criterion for Selection:

The Ven Prize is open to Hub Culture members creating projects that help lead Hub Culture and the world at large toward a sustainable, circular, cellular economic system:  Projects should have demonstrated progress, a clear focus and goal, and employ both Ven and Hub Culture collaboration tools in their development.

Deadlines:

The deadline for application submissions is November 30, 2013.

Judging Panel:

A group of 7 judges oversee the application selection process.

Judges are drawn from the world of carbon finance, clean tech, branding, micro-finance, banking, and non-profits:

Paula di Perna, Climate Finance Expert
Mary Grady, American Carbon Registry

Prize Notes

In the event of no projects being created that fit the criterion for the award by Ven Prize Judges, Hub Culture reserves the right to rollover the Prize on an ongoing basis, until such suitable projects are found.

The Ven Prize is awarded only in Ven and normally may not be exchanged for cash.  Ven is infinitely usable for goods and services in the global Hub economy.
