An Invitation to Croatia

Hub Culture will soon be opening the NooRepublic Project, a multi-year island activity and fundraising concept situated on the beautiful, ancient Adriatic coast in Croatia. Launching 24 July, 2010, the NooRepublic is an island concept that will focus on conservation of Roman and Byzantine ruins found on Majsan, the development of no-impact contemporary art installations to be featured on the island, and a full suite of adjacent online based services operated from HubCulture.com priced in Ven, the world s most advanced virtual currency.

As a project, the Hub Culture NooRepublic is historic: it represents the first landmass to be assisted by a social network, and will feature operational committees, fundraising, sustainability initiatives, global press and outreach programmes.

The goal of the initiative are:

to raise funds for the preservation of Majsan ruins

to make Majsan and Croatia an international contemporary art destination

to provide Hub Culture an island branding opportunity with services and press: NooRepublic

The ambitious multi-year project parlays Hub Culture s global strengths into a local preservation project, with events and activities at the NooRepublic funding the Hub Culture NooRepublic Restoration Fund, dedicated to the preservation and restoration of ancient ruins found on the island. Majsan features:

extensive Roman and Byzantine ruins, including one of the world s most complete Roman villas

a wild olive grove with olive-producing trees over 2,000 years old

a strategic maritime location overlooking Korcula,the home town of 12th century adventurer Marco Polo.

With this in mind, a series of launch activities, including a visit to the island and evening party to establish initial contributions for the Restoration Fund, will be held 24-26 July 2010. Join Hub Culture in Croatia to help us preserve, polish and enhance a cultural jewel.

Why the NooRepublic ? The prefix noo refers to collective consciousness, as posited by the philosopher Verdansky, and a Republic refers to an ideal form of social organization for the members of Hub Culture. Why Marco Polo s birthplace? He was the original Hub Culture idealist an extreme global traveller.
