Common Ground Ensemble is a unique platform designed to foster deep human connection and cooperation. By curating a "talent pool" of people who share a commitment to creating meaningful change, it provides an infrastructure that supports collaboration and action. The central belief is simple yet powerful: when outstanding individuals, who might not otherwise meet, are brought together in an atmosphere of trust, extraordinary things can happen.
Building a Movement of Belonging
The Ensemble is more than just a network; it is a movement that champions the values of belonging and reciprocity. It brings together individuals who have dreams, aspirations, and a desire to connect with like-minded people. These connections are intended to be transformational, grounded in the pursuit of a greater purpose—to accelerate human talent, amplify stories that need to be told, and give individuals a sense of wholeness and opportunity. While the Ensemble celebrates each unique individual, it acknowledges that true systemic change can only emerge through collective action.
The Rhizomatic Network: Co-Creation and Growth
The Ensemble's structure resembles a rhizome, a decentralized, interconnected network where every element plays a role in growth and propagation. This nomadic system allows ideas and initiatives to be co-created across various sectors, fostering a culture of collaboration. Each participant's unique perspective and background contribute to the rich fabric of the Ensemble, ensuring that innovation is driven by diverse voices and ideas.
The Common Ground Summit: The Heart of the Community
The Common Ground Summit, held annually on the North Shore of Kauai, Hawaii, serves as the main gathering for the global Ensemble community. This three-day event is designed to foster trust, incubate new ideas, and create a space for tough, transformative conversations. Set in the stunning environment of a regenerative farm surrounded by a tropical agroforest, the Summit offers a space where members can explore passions, support businesses, and form lasting friendships, all while enjoying local food and culture.
Participants range from indigenous leaders to ocean activists, impact investors, chefs, storytellers, and innovators from around the world. The conversations that emerge at the Summit—whether during formal sessions, over shared meals, or on excursions—create a truly magical and impactful experience.
Growing the Collective: A Call for Diverse Perspectives
As the
Common Ground Ensemble continues to grow, its success is driven by the principle that
trusted people bring trusted people. The platform invites partner networks to nominate individuals to join the Ensemble, helping to curate a diverse and inclusive community. By drawing from various points of view and backgrounds, the Ensemble ensures that its collective is equipped to tackle complex global challenges.
The Ensemble offers the infrastructure necessary to support these connections, including events management, community facilitators, and the use of the regenerative campus in Kauai to host gatherings and incubate new ideas.
Partnership with Hub Culture: An Impact Learning Journey
One exciting initiative is the proposed partnership with Hub Culture, which invites a select group of 5-10 members on a special Hub Culture Impact Learning Journey in Kauai. This journey provides participants with an immersive experience, allowing them to fully engage with the local culture, history, community, and environment. The objective is to translate local challenges into global solutions, through open and deep conversations.
Through this journey, participants will have the opportunity to engage with diverse leaders—from indigenous elders and impact investors to ocean activists, chefs, and entrepreneurs. These deep, meaningful conversations, set against the backdrop of Kauai’s natural beauty, create the perfect environment for building lasting relationships and incubating ideas for global change.

Notable speakers and attendees at the
Common Ground Summit include 2024 Nobel Peace Prize nominee Felix Maradiaga, ocean activist Mike Coots, astronaut Franklin Chang Díaz, indigenous leaders from four continents, and many other prominent figures from various sectors.
