After a long day crushing the slopes its great to sit back and relax in a private chalet, with a cozy fire, beautiful food and bubbly on tap. From lively spots to quiet getaways, we have put together a collection of the top go-to luxurious ski chalets to consider for a European winter adventure. Handy links for these top chalets picks are included for easier booking!

Party:  Verbier, Switzerland

One of Switzerland's best known resorts, the slopes of Verbier are snowsure and the scenery is breathtaking. With one of the largest ski areas located in a sunny, vibrant location, Verbier attracts a young, trendy and energetic crowd.  Up all night? No problem. While Verbier has slopes to suit all levels, it is best for confident, adventurous skiers and snowboarders. The 80 lifts access more than 400km of runs, including some of the best lift-served off piste in the Alps.

Romance: St Martin de Belleville, France

If you prefer a quieter ski holiday, then St Martin should be right up your chairlift. Set in a traditional village with direct access to the massive Trois Vallées area, this relatively inexpensive spot makes a great base for exploring the area.  Cosy and more quaint than neighboring Chamonix, its a good bet for that romantic getaway.

Clients: Val d’Isère, France

One of the most frequented ski resorts by britons, this French location offers something for everybody. Linked to neighbouring Tignes to form a ski area of 300km of pistes and 78 lifts, Val offers high quality, snow-sure slopes for everyone from complete beginner to veteran powderhound.

Adventure: Lech, Austria

Lech is one of the most exclusive resorts on the map. Royal families have often holidayed here, including Princess Diana and Monaco's Princess Catherine. The village has stayed true to it's farming roots and remained fairly low-key, however there has been obvious resort expansion. The pistes are best suited to intermediates, who will find the terrain a lot more friendly than in neighbouring St Anton, which is also covered by the Arlberg ski pass.

Cuisine: Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt is the foodie capital of the Alps, and has the best selection of mountain restuarants. Surrounded by 38 summits above 4,000m, the car-free town is full of life all year round. Zermatt has 200km of pistes of its own, and is also linked by lift and piste to Cervinia in Italy, providing another 160km of pistes. For familiesintermediatesexperts and ski tourers, it sits up there with the best.

Standalone Chalet Ulysse is a great choice for smaller groups: https://www.matterhornchalets.com

Family: Morzine, France

A year-round lively resort, Morzine is a popular choice for many winter enthusiasts. Morzine is the capital of the huge 600km cross-border Portes du Soleil ski area that extends into Switzerland. It is a great base ideally suited to families, but it does have one disadvantage – low altitude make Morzine better mid-season.
