Hub Culture and the Climate Group partnered for Climate Week NYC, producing social media interviews of industry leaders, and hosting a celebration party with London Carbon Market to benefit Hub Culture related climate funds.

The week kicked off with New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg and Rt. Hon. Tony Blair leading an opening session with Climate Group CEO Mike Kenbar, Dr. Andrew Steer of the World Bank and others discussing New York City's role in developing a new economy based on not just clean power, but clean innovation across all sectors. That evening, a reception hosted by Steelcase at their 52nd street complex brought together leaders from across the burgeoning clean tech industry, along with NGO's, innovators and policymakers.

Over 20 CEOs and leaders, including Mike Ward of Ikea, Mark Vachon of GE Ecoimagination, Paula di Perna at the Carbon Disclosure Project, Kumi Naidoo of Greenpeace, Kelly Rigg of TckTckTck and others took part in Hub Culture's signature social media interview series, lead by Climate Analyst Tamara Giltsoff, all available at HubLive.TV.

During the week, a number of events captured the attention of New Yorkers, ranging from the Business Climate session on Tuesday to art openings and casual gatherings designed to link and connect players in the industry.

On Friday night, Hub Culture and London Carbon Market hosted a party for Climate Week NYC focused on the Mata no Peito project - an initiative led by Nike and the American Carbon Registry (ACR) with Winrock, to create funding for on the ground aforestation projects in the Amazon. Partners are able to retire carbon offsets on behalf of the project, with 100% of funds going toward real on the ground projects now in development. Guests also took a look at the Ocean and Forest climate funds in development by Hub Culture, which are denominated in Ven, Hub Culture's digital currency.
