Hub Culture and the Yoga Society of New York are teaming up to present the Code Conscious Retreat 2015, a three day programme of meditation, yoga and coding at Ananda Ashram, in Monroe, New York.

The programme runs 12-14 October and is focused on creating enhanced awareness in the context of the work developers do on machine learnng and artificial intelligence.

The world of technology is moving rapidly toward scenarios in which machines can learn in real time, with exponential results. The context in which these machines are created and the coding infrastructure around their development is increasingly important.

At the same time, meditation, yoga and other 'old technologies' for the human body help to create a blank and relaxed canvas from which a developer can work. The hope is that combining the two disciplines can result in the creation of code and technologies with enhanced clarity and eventually, enhanced awareness.

The retreat includes regular meditation and yoga sessions with capsule sprint programmes for developers. The sprints offer sustained chunks of time for developers to work independently or in teams, and follow meditation sessions which allow teams to clear their minds and set intentions.

Each day includes a discussion on machine learning and the architecture and methods of artificial intelligence. The goal is to set a common sent of intentions around these technologies with the developers and to explore the implications and goals of how these emerging technologies can best impact humanity.

Prior to the Code Conscious Retreat, from Friday Oct 9th, 2015 through Monday Oct 12th, the world s foremost experts in nada yoga and the art of 'sacred sound' will come together to immerse retreat participants in the power & awareness of subtle frequencies. This four day intensive program is ideal for yogis and sound healers wanting to deepen their personal practice, yoga teachers who want to integrate sound with their classes, and for sound healers working with yoga teachers to enhance and deepen the yoga/sound healing experience. Elements of this sound work will inform the first day of the Code Conscious Reteat.
