You should also know that male infertility is more often caused by lifestyle while female infertility may be congenital or caused by a certain disease.

2. Infertility can be caused by uterine growths

There are a lot of growths and tumors that can develop in your uterus. The most common of them are uterine polyps and fibroids. Even though they usually don’t cause significant discomfort, both fibroids and polyps can block the fallopian tubes.

This can interfere with egg release and fertilization. That’s why it is recommended to remove both polyps and fibroids especially if you experience fertility issues.

3. STDs can cause infertility

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are a great problem for modern people. Due to the fact that many people tend to avoid contraception, especially condoms, the infection easily spreads among sexually active people.

The main problem is that  STDs can develop asymptomatically and cause severe damage to the reproductive system at the same time. They can lead to inflammation that can result in scars and adhesions. If these adhesions occur in the fallopian tubes or ovaries, you can have fertility issues.

4. PCOS is one of the most common causes of female infertility

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder that causes a lot of unpleasant symptoms including infertility. Women with PCOS usually have increased body hair, acne, extra pounds, irregular periods, and are more prone to depression.
