What Is Glutathione?

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant used by our body to protect us from diseases. Its presence in the body can prevent premature aging, cancer, dementia, heart palpitations, and many other serious heart diseases.

How Is Glutathione Produced?

Glutathione is produced directly in the body, but poor nutrition and ecology, stress, injuries, infections, and radiation deplete its reserves. Studies show that glutathione levels are reduced from 12% to 8% between the ages of 20 and 30. The work of the liver is overloaded and this makes you prone to cell breakdown from free radicals and other external damage. Glutathione itself is a combination of three simple amino acids, cysteine, glycine, and glutamine.

Why Is It Important to Stimulate Glutathione Production?

According to some reports, a third of the world's population has a reduced glutathione level due to tens of thousands of industrial chemicals used in the environment. Our evolution as a species stopped long before we began to expose ourselves to such toxic effects, so our bodies simply have no genes that could withstand a degraded ecology. Glutathione deficiency is often observed in people with chronic fatigue syndrome, cancer, infections, and autoimmune diseases.

Our ability to produce and maintain high levels of glutathione is crucial to combat almost all chronic diseases, as well as to prevent them and maintain optimal health and performance.

How Does Glutathione Work?

Glutathione triggers the work of antioxidants that fight free radicals. Harmful substances “stick” to glutathione and get carried through the organism and excreted from the body. It helps to get rid of toxins and if its level in the body is lowered then the process can be detrimental to the entire life support system.

An increased level of glutathione reduces muscle damage, shortens recovery time, increases strength and endurance, and also changes your metabolism so that muscles develop and fat is not stored.

How to Increase Glutathione Levels

Use bioactive whey protein which is the source of amino acid building blocks for synthesis. Add unpasteurized milk to your diet that does not contain pesticides or hormones. Exercise regularly as this increases glutathione levels and thereby helps strengthen the immune system, improve detoxification and increases your body's own antioxidant defense. Start with small sessions like 30 minutes walks and continue with energetic 1-hour workouts. Try to keep these workouts regular and avoid injuries.

Use supplements for the production and processing of glutathione, the body requires a lot of different nutrients but they are all available in the nearest pharmacy. You can use multivitamins, fish oil, folic acid, and B vitamins which is enough to maintain your health at the proper level.

Add an alpha-lipoic acid. It is close to glutathione in its importance, as it is involved in the production of energy and in controlling blood sugar levels. It is also produced by your body, but because of the experienced stress it quickly depletes. It is better to ask the therapist about the dosage at which you should take it.
