7 Reasons to Buy Toyota RAV4

27th Dec 2022

With the most extensive redesign in history, the Toyota RAV4 retains the legendary features of previous generations while offering customers the best-in-class performance package.

RAV4 now meets the needs of not only crossover fans who value reliability and comfort above all else, but also a younger audience. So if you are going to buy or lease Toyota, pay attention to these seven reasons to buy Toyota RAV4.

1. Back to basics

This car was created for outdoor enthusiasts. This is exactly what is reflected in its name - Recreational Active Vehicle 4WD (RAV4), or "all-wheel drive vehicle for outdoor activities." Over the course of four generations, the RAV4 has evolved with customer demand and market trends while maintaining consistent quality, reliability, and durability. In its fifth generation, the RAV4 returns to its original intent with massive structural changes and a technological arsenal of true off-road vehicles – now it is a car for any road, any task, and any weather.

2. Revolutionary TNGA Architecture

The fifth generation Toyota RAV4 is built on the global TNGA architecture, which has transformed absolutely all of its basic characteristics. The car has become more dynamic and safer, receiving a completely new off-road design and a new level of handling. All this is a direct consequence of the main advantages of the revolutionary architecture: high body rigidity, low center of gravity, and thoughtful aerodynamics.

3. The appearance of a true SUV

The design of the new RAV4 has become more brutal and sharpened for off-road adventures, but at the same time, the car looks great in the scenery of a big city. An aggressive grille, prominent fenders with muscular wheel arches, and sculpted sidewalls give the new RAV4 a visual resemblance to legendary Toyota SUVs such as the Land Cruiser 200 and Land Cruiser Prado. On the other hand, the sophistication and completeness of the external appearance of the novelty are given by modern LED headlights, as well as 19-inch rims, which appeared in the equipment of the model for the first time.

4. Perfect interior

When designing the interior of the new RAV4, Toyota engineers focused not only on the ergonomics of the driver's seat and spaciousness for passengers but also on tactile and visual sensations. The interior of the new RAV4 has a lot of soft surfaces. The main elements of the interior are made of high-quality materials that are pleasant to the touch.

The overall perception is influenced by the branded ornament of intersecting octagons, background LED lighting, comfortable fit, optimal visibility from the driver’s workplace, well-thought-out arrangement of controls, and comfortable placement of rear passengers.

5. Impressive handling

All cars built on the TNGA platform are characterized by improved handling, and RAV4 is no exception. A low center of gravity, a stiffer body thanks to the use of high-strength steels, a recalibrated suspension front, and rear, and electric power steering located directly on the rack and not on the steering shaft - all this provides the crossover with a safe, controlled and truly exciting handling.

6. All-wheel drive, unique in the segment

For the first time in its history, the RAV4 offers two all-wheel-drive systems. The traditional Dynamic Torque Control AWD (comfort package) automatically engages the rear wheels when the front wheels slip. At the same time, the new Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD is a segment-unique all-wheel drive transmission with two separate clutches on each of the rear wheels.

Independent thrust vectoring, where the torque is individually distributed between the rear wheels, noticeably improves the car's behavior both on the pavement (stability on the trajectory, higher cornering speed, reduced oversteer, and understeer effects) and off-road (reduced risk of wheel spin, easy copes with diagonal hanging).

7. Toyota's reputation

Toyota vehicles deservedly hold the title of the most reliable in the world - the proof is more than 100 awards and prizes from the most reputable publications and associations, including Consumer Reports and JD Power. As a result, Toyota vehicles are the most attractive offer on the secondary market, and their residual value is high. Thus, the fourth-generation Toyota RAV4 is the leader in the mid-size crossover segment, retaining 84.6-92.5% of the original price for three years of operation.
