Hub Culture manages a number of initiatives related to non-profits and causes in the community. Â A category in the Store dedicated to causes features worthwhile projects, donations and activities across a range of subjects and ideas, ranging from environmental protection and investment to poverty alleviation, development, education, and health. Â Members who purchase these projects make a Ven donation to the particular cause, and 100% of Ven is donated to the project in question. Â
The Ven Prize is an award toward sustainable, circular, cellular economic systems in Hub Culture and the world at large.Â
The Prize launched October 1, 2009 at the Hub Culture Los Angeles Pavilion at the Governor's Global Climate Summit .Â
The Prize began with a V100,000 base and is growing. The current value of the Prize is: V102,680. A periodic prize, no winner of the Ven Prize has yet been announced.
The Everest Award is an award to recognize members and member companies that go to extreme and creative lengths to help others.
The Award launched in May 2011 in recognition of Rob Hart, the first Hub Culture member to scale Mt. Everest, who donated funds raised around his climb to Room to Read, an educational charity working to construct a school in Nepal supporting children's education, and to do similar work in South Africa, Rob's homeland.Â
The Prize began with a V10,000 base  and is growing with donations made each year.  The next winner of this annual prize be announced in May 2012.
