The Global GoalsCast is a new podcast available on iTunes which profiles people and projects relevant to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, a multilateral effort to tackle pervasive global issues. Hub Culture Executive Editor Edie Lush and UNICEF's Claudia Romo Edelman host the podcast, uncovering compelling stories of humans at the frontline of change.

The podcast brings stories to light with a diverse range but focused on a single topic: people making the world better through the lense of 17 Sustainable Development Goals, signed by 193 countries in 2015. It is the first podcast focused on the Global Goals.

From Robert and Barney Swan, Antarctic explorers traversing the South Pole on renewable energy, to Jeanette Monosoff-Haley, a Mumbai-based organizer working to support the education of some of the poorest children in India, Edelman and Lush knit together a narrative that transports the listener to vivid new perspectives.

"Many partners are working to make the Global Goalscast a touchpoint for the often silent work done by people and organizations to improve the state of the world, and the Goals provide a framework by which to tell the stories," said Romo Edelman. "Every story ties back to the important question of how we're going to get the work done to tackle today's urgent issues."

For instance, SAS has partnered with the Global GoalsCast to provide salient data related to topics covered in the podcast, so that listeners can access the Global Goalscast website to pull quick facts and talking points to support something they heard in the show.

"Podcasts continue to deliver new ways to reach global audiences, and a mix of useful data for social media and indepth discussions on topics like migration, climate, poverty reduction, technology and their impact on society's efforts to reach the goals by 2030 are what this is all about," said Lush - who has interviewed over 1,000 senior executives and thought leaders for Hub Culture as part of HubLive.tv. Many of these discussions will intersect with the podcast at Hub Culture Pavilions in 2018, starting at Davos this month.

The podcast is an initiative from the We are all Human Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting diversity, radical inclusion and equity in partnership with Hub Culture, and powered by CBS Digital.
