'Living With a Green Heart' by Gay Browne

We all know climate change is real and more urgent than ever, with reports indicating that global temperatures are dangerously close to an irreversible tipping point in the next decade - some reports suggest we have just 12 years to curb carbon emissions before we hit a tiipping point. At our current pace, there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050. Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are dying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace. It has become clear humans have caused most of the past century's warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives. Called greenhouse gases, their levels are higher now than at any time in the last 800,000 years. There has never been a greater urgency to act, but what can we do individually?

Gay Browne has spent her life committed to promoting environmental health, exploring how taking care of our planet isn’t just the right thing to do, but how it can also have a tremendously positive impact on the mind, body, and spirit.

Gay decided to write the book 'Living With A Green Heart' - a blueprint for the reader to make a green new deal with themselves and with people around them. It helps show people that no matter who they were, where they live or their socio-economic status, they can do their part to lead a greener and healthier life for themselves, their family and the planet.

In an increasingly toxic world, the paths to environmental health and personal well-being run parallel. The journey begins with a few small steps and this book seems like a great way to start!
